As a DC resident she was proud of the legal opportunity for home grow; Her enthusiasm lead her to become an advocate for homegrow in DC. Lisa also hosts home grow trade shows featuring local grow consultants, grow shops and experienced herbalists to expose people to the proper techniques of cultivating home grown cannabis. Without the legal right to sell her home grown cannabis Lisa got creative with her grow and started Cannaration’s; Using live cannabis leaves to decorate glassware and more. She hopes to spark the conversation including home grow into their states legalization bill, as an affordable option to expensive medical programs for those who can’t afford them.
Eric grew up in Montgomery County Maryland. He first developed an interest in growing in 2006, but laws being what they are, he knew to head out west to really get experience. He spent 7 years as a cultivator in Oakland, CA before returning to DC when he learned of initiative 71. Eric will be discussing best practices for healthy home cultivation!
Jamila Hogan is the first woman of color to manage a cultivation center on the east coast. She is the founder of The Green Life Learning Center, an international cannabis education company specializing in professional employee training standards for cannabis businesses. She is the author of the Cannabis Reference Manual, a three book series that covers the science of cannabis in the body, understanding archetypes, and cultivation basics. She currently works as the director of community outreach for Abatin Wellness Center of Washington, DC.
