George Martorano is the longest-serving first-time non-violent offender in the Federal Bureau of Prisons at the time of his release. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole in 1984 on drugs charges. Martorano was released in October 2015 after serving over 32 years as part of President Obama’s prison reform plan to to reduce overcrowding and provide relief to drug offenders who received harsh sentences during the Drug War. Since George’s release in 2015 he has opened a CBD Cafe in Philadelphia with plans to open eleven more, additionally he has been a staunch advocate of prison reform, expungement for nonviolent cannabis crimes, gun violence, and much more!
