CannaGather is the largest cannabis industry community in New York. Join us for a lecture style event with amazing speakers plus a great networking community. No cannabis consumption is allowed at our events, due to New York State law...we hope this will change!
Â
The CannaGather (4)20 Awards showcases 20 of the top leaders driving New York City's cannabis industry, particularly with regard to their efforts over the last year. If you have nominations for outstanding leaders in the cannabis industry in NYC, please let us know.
Â
Ethan Nadelmann is the Founder of the Drug Policy Alliance and has led the charge for the legalization of cannabis on behalf of patients, consumers and the unfairly incarcerated for decades. He retired last year from heading DPA and we are honored to honor him with a Lifetime Achievement award for his dedication to this important cause as well as his uniquely impactful contributions thereto. Without Ethan's efforts, we would likely not have any form of cannabis industry today.
Â
Ethan earned B.A., J.D., and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University and a master’s degree in international relations from the London School of Economics. He taught politics and public affairs at Princeton University from 1987 to 1994. He founded the Lindesmeth Center thereafter which became the Drug Policy Alliance in 2000. He served as the Executive Director of the DPA from 2000 until 2017. We are excited to hear about Ethan's thoughts on the future of the legalization and industry of cannabis in the United States and around the world, as well as his own upcoming plans and projects over the next few years!
